1. Who we are

Woev is a personal dog walking service based in Amsterdam, operated by Tom Dekker. You can reach us at tom@woev.amsterdam.

2. What data we collect

We collect only what is needed to provide our service:

  • Your name and email address (when you join the waitlist or book a walk)
  • Your dog's name, breed, and any health or care notes you share with us
  • Your home address and preferred pickup times
  • Walk data — GPS route, duration, distance, and photos taken during the walk

3. Legal basis for processing

We process your data on the following legal grounds under GDPR:

  • Contract performance — your name, address, and booking details are processed to fulfil our dog walking agreement with you.
  • Legitimate interests — walk data (GPS, photos, duration) is processed to deliver your Walk Report and improve service quality.
  • Consent — we only use walk imagery for promotional purposes if you have explicitly agreed.

4. How we use your data

Your data is used solely to operate and improve our service — scheduling walks, sending Walk Reports, and communicating with you about your bookings. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Walk photos

Photos taken during walks are shared with you via the Woev app and are stored securely. We may use anonymised walk imagery for promotional purposes only with your explicit consent.

6. Cookies and analytics

This website may use minimal analytics to understand how visitors use our pages (e.g. page views and referral sources). No personally identifiable data is collected through cookies. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as you are an active client plus 12 months. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us.

8. Your rights (GDPR)

As a resident of the EU, you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or erase your personal data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at tom@woev.amsterdam.

If you believe your data is being handled unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email to active clients.
